My name is Jessica, and I’m a self-proclaimed diamond lover.
Yes, I’m aware of the cliche about women and diamonds, and I fully own up to fitting into the stereotype. In fact, if I had a lot more money, I’d be dripping in them. Shiny things and all that.
However, despite my dreams of wearing Elizabeth Taylor-esque stones, I also worry about the ethics of the diamond industry. In my research, I’ve found that claims of “ethical sourcing” or conflict-free are often not.
There is more awareness now about the ethical concerns of diamonds. Many jewelers are becoming more transparent about how and where their diamonds are sourced. That said, many consumers are still wary of purchasing a natural stone.
I created this site to increase awareness of and offer ethical alternatives to mined diamonds. In addition to being a better choice from an ethical standpoint, many of them are less expensive — while remaining equally durable and beautiful.
I hope this site is helpful on your journey to find the perfect ethical alternative for your story.
Disclaimer
As much as I love my readers, I don’t do this entirely out of the goodness of my heart (I mean — I would, but alas, I have lights to keep on and cats to feed).
That means The Ethical Engagement is a reader-supported blog. My site includes affiliate links. As an affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases. That means that if you click on an affiliate link and make a purchase, I may receive a commission from the sale.
This does NOT result in any additional cost to you, and any affiliate income I earn means I can keep this site running. If you make a purchase and end up returning the item because you’re dissatisfied or the recommendation is bad, I do not keep the commission. It’s a fair system that keeps me committed to serving my readers. The most important thing to me is maintaining my reputation as an unbiased, trusted resource for shoppers.
Another important point: Being an affiliate blogger is NOT the same as posting sponsored or commercial content. I do NOT accept “freebies,” payments, or special blogger discounts in exchange for positive reviews or mentions. All opinions you’ll find on this blog are my own, after I’ve personally done the legwork to research and review jewelers. I will never recommend a company or product unless I believe in their quality and service. You can’t buy my love, sorry.
